County Councillor for Blakedown, Cllr. Marcus Hart is delighted to report that he has been able to get Worcestershire County Council highways to install a new drain outside 65 Belbroughton Road and link it to the one across the road.
Marcus says, “I have been told by local residents that ever since the road was resurfaced several years ago this altered the camber of the road and meant that whenever there was rain, there was ponding in this location. I am pleased that this work has now been completed thanks to my persistence and I have had very positive feedback from residents. Obviously this work couldn’t be done at the time of the surface dressing and it was not able to be scheduled in in advance so I would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding.”
Marcus did also arrange for the excess chippings to be swept following the surface dressing and also for the team to go back to the part of the road that could not be done because of parked cars and is pleased to report that this has been done. Marcus has now received more positive feedback.
Marcus is also pursuing a highway lining scheme to further remind motorists to slow down and stick to 30mph or less.
