Cllr Nathan Desmond is delighted to announce that he has secured funding to have the worse sections of pavement resurfaced in Northumberland Avenue in the New Year.
Many local residents who use Northumberland Avenue on the school run have contacted Nathan to highlight the very rough and uneven pavement.
Nathan met with Highways officers on site and managed to secure the £30k funding to enable this project to happen. The whole section of pavement on Northumberland Avenue between Blount Terrace and Neville Avenue, numbers 16 to 37, will get resurfaced, together with a large section outside of Foley Park Primary School. Also, Nathan has managed to get an assurance that another 2 pairs of DDA drop kerbs will be installed at the same time between the junctions of Blount Terrace and Neville Avenue and also between Northumberland Avenue and Blount Terrace.
Nathan said, “ I’m grateful to local residents for pointing out these very worn pavements and it’s great that have I secured the £30k funding to have the new pavements installed sometime in the new year”
