County Councillor for Spennells, Cllr. Marcus Hart is delighted to report that he is making very good progress now in securing that the obsolete bus shelters are moved and put to good use.
Marcus has held a site meeting with an officer of Worcestershire County Council and from Wyre Forest District Council on 20th October and have agreed two locations for the re siting of the bus stops.
Marcus says, “Now the route direction change has been in operation by the bus operator for many many months and there is a permanence to this change it is right that the shelters are moved to be put to good use especially as we approach the winter months. Indeed many residents have been requesting this with me.”
Marcus has secured the bus shelter outside the Primary School on Heronswood Road to be moved to the bus stop flag just down on the opposite side of the road. Marcus says, “ On balance this is a better location than moving the shelter to the flag on Captains Pool Road opposite Quail Park Drive.”
The bus shelter on Heronswood Road just down from the Whinchat Grove junction is to be moved to the bus stop flag on the opposite side of the road between Dunlin Drive and Chaffinch Drive.
Marcus added, “I am very pleased to be able to resolve this issue at last with the assistance of the relevant bodies and as the bus shelters are owned by Clear Channel they will be undertaking their removal from their current locations and undertaking their installation to their new locations once WFDC have undertaken some of the necessary groundworks. I am hopeful they should be in situ over the next 4 weeks or so.”
