County Councillor Ian Hardiman is pleased to report that following recent discussions with officers of County Highways and Wyre Forest District Council, both authorities are committed to the repairs and ongoing maintenance of the Safari Park (Catchems End) Island and the Blackstone Island.
County Highways will be scheduling perimeter brickwork repairs for both islands which have suffered vehicle collisions in the last year and WFDC will assume responsibility for general “green” maintenance following thinning out of the trees on the Catchems End Island.
Ian points out that, “ However, the brickwork repairs will necessitate traffic control arrangements to ensure the safety of operatives, so some temporary inconvenience will occur at the time.”
