County Cllr Ian Hardiman is pleased to report that The County Council’s Tree Planting project for Wribbenhall is now underway.
Ian says, “During this week, 3,500 trees have been delivered to the site and planting of this first phase of three intended phases, has begun; however, unfortunately, owing to the difficulties being experienced whilst the coronavirus continues to spread, the involvement of local schools cannot presently be allowed. The County’s Countryside Greenspace staff have been busy planting 14 varieties of tree and have explained that there will ultimately be circa 8,000 trees planted here with phase two commencing next September, when hopefully local schools will be able to join in. The third and final phase will follow in 2022.”
Whilst initially this field will not be open to the public, when the trees are safely established, walkways that are being incorporated will provide opportunities for walkers to experience a wonderful mix of trees and bushes and wildlife habitat that will undoubtedly take up residence here.
