The Wyre Forest Conservative Council Group welcomes the announcement by the Secretary of State, Robert Jenrick, Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, that a major package of support is available immediately for our communities affected by the floods due to Storm Denis.

The package includes:

• Financial hardship payments for short-term need
• Properties and businesses significantly affected by recent flooding will be eligible for 100% council tax and business rates relief for at least 3 months
• SME's who have suffered severe uninsurable losses will be eligible for upto £2,500 from the Business Recovery Grant.
• Flood hit homes and businesses can apply for up to £5,000 to help make them more resilient to future flooding.
