County Councillor for Spennells, Cllr. Marcus Hart is able to give a further update on his efforts to relocate the obsolete bus shelters on Heronswood Road as a result of the change of direction to the bus route.
As previously reported, Marcus has previously liaised with WFDC and WCC officers in order to agree the locations for the bus shelters to go by bus stops.
Marcus says, “I am pleased that as a result of my efforts and working with the two Councils, we have agreed that the bus shelter by Heronswood School will be moved to the opposite side of the road by the bus stop and that work to put the new base down is taking place now and that the shelter should be moved next week. In the meantime, please take care using the temporary bus stop.”
The other bus shelter near the junction of Whinchat Grove and Heronswood Road does not require a new base to be put down and will also be moved to the opposite side of the road by the bus stop between Dunlin Drive and Chaffinch Drive next week.
Marcus added, “I am delighted that after some delays, in part down to Covid -19, this work is being done just in time for the winter months and I am sure this will be much welcome news to bus users on the estate. It was great to see the work being done first hand today whilst out and about on the estate.”
