Last November Cllr Nathan Desmond, announced that he had secured funding to have the worse sections of pavements in Northumberland Avenue completely resurfaced in the New Year.
The £30k funding secured was meant to resurface the section of pavements on Northumberland Avenue between Blount Terrace and Neville Avenue, numbers 16 to 37, together with a large section outside of Foley Park Primary School and 2 pairs of DDA dropped kerbs.
However, unfortunately the project has now been delayed by Highways until later in the summer.
Nathan wasn't happy and made his feelings known after he had an agreement in writing from highways. The good news is that by way of compensation for the delay, Highway’s have agreed to resurface ALL Pavements in Northumberland Avenue and not just the worst sections.
With this positive news Nathan said "I’m sure you will agree with me this is great news and it’s worth waiting another 5 months to have all the pavements resurfaced
Will keep you updated on developments"
