The Progressive Alliance Coalition Cabinet have approved the main modifications go out for consultation. The consultation runs from 14th October until 12pm on 26th November.
The Leader of the Council, Independent, Cllr. Helen Dyke has agreed just one day of public engagement by way of two drop in sessions at Wyre Forest House on Wednesday 3rd November between 10am-12pm and 4pm-6pm. There is no need to book. The Overview and Scrutiny Committee (which Cllr Marcus Hart chairs) had requested 4-6 days at venues across the District in order that you our residents could be properly listened to but sadly this has been rejected by the Progressive Alliance's leadership.
The Local Plan will run until 2036 and there is a proposal to increase the over allocation of housing from 15% to 20% which is roughly a further 400 houses over the lifetime of the plan, therefore the total housing supply is 6,715 houses now with a need for 5,520 houses over the lifetime of the plan, together with 29 hectares of employment land.
We would encourage all residents to have their say as Full Council will need to consider the Local Plan next Spring and as a Conservative Team, we are keen to hear what people have to say on these modifications.
