Funding has been secured for a new zebra crossing on Sutton road.
Cllr Nathan Desmond said "I’m really delighted to announce that myself and Cllr Tracey Onslow have now secured the necessary funding to enable a new and much needed zebra crossing to be installed on Sutton Rd. We are both committing £22k each from our devolved Highways budget and Highways are match funding the other £40k to make this happen."
Cllr Onslow added that "For over 10 years many residents have contacted us about the need for a zebra crossing on Sutton Rd to enable pedestrians to cross safely into Brinton Park. It’s been a long campaign. Finally Highways have listened and are will willing to fund 50% of the costs."
The new zebra crossing will be sited close to Poplar Rd and work is programmed to start in autumn this year.
We are delighted that this much need crossing will finally get built and make crossing the busy Sutton Rd, much safer
