Wyre Forest Conservatives were delighted to host Lee Anderson MP, the Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party at a dinner at Hagley Hall on Thursday 3rd August. The dinner was the first this year for the recently renewed Patrons Club.
During his incredibly thoughtful speech, Lee shared with us his journey from his start in a working class mining community, through his work at the Citizen's Advice Bureau and in hostels supporting homeless people leaving care, via his spell as a Labour councillor, to being a Conservative MP and vice chair of the party.
MP Mark Garnier commented "It was such an honour for us to have Lee come and speak to us. The Conservative Party is a better place for the life experience and unvarnished common sense of people like Lee. His practical life experience of both working underground as a part of a close-nit mining community, as well as his extensive practical experience helping people through incredibly difficult times, serves to broaden and enrich the depth of Conservative thinking. It was an honour to have him join us."
