I am Alan Sutton, born in Stoke-On-Trent in 1968 to working class family, with traditions of working in the local industries of coal mining, steel and pottery production. Raised in Macclesfield by my mum, the back bone and foundation of my upbringing.
I left school at 16 with few qualifications and soon joined the British Army, here I trained and worked as an electronics engineer. Later going on to study electronic engineering at Nottingham Trent University. I worked hard and achieved a career within engineering management. I bring a wealth of collaborative problem solving and project management skills to help drive improvements within our community.
On development I am passionate about preserving our green belt and maximising the redevelopment of disused industrial sites, absent property and other brown field sites. To improve properties for the local economy, provide good quality work opportunities and housing for local families
On the environment as an outdoor person in my leisure time, I value enjoying the open spaces we have. I want to see these areas protected, kept clean and unspoilt with effective clean up and local enforcement.
On local amenities I believe these should be accessible to, and be for, the benefit of our residents and community. Enhancing offerings where possible to maximise both their efficiency and resident satisfaction. Free evening, coupled with some free daytime parking, along with a lower cost offering for shorter stays are just examples of this, making it more convenient for our community to drop into town, economically benefiting our local shops.
If you entrust your vote in me, and I am subsequently elected to represent you, I will work tireless within our community to identify opportunities and solutions, were we can make continuous improvements to the benefit of our residents and our community.
