David has lived and worked in Kidderminster for over 30 years running a business in the town centre.
He was first elected to the newly formed Kidderminster Town Council in 2016 and served as Mayor of Kidderminster from 2019-2020, stating "It was an honour and a privilege to represent the people and town during my mayoral year." In 2021 he was elected by the residents to represent the St Barnabas division at Worcestershire County Council where he served on the Children & Families Scrutiny panel and the Environment panel. At the same time, he was re-elected to serve on Kidderminster Town Council and became the first ever Leader of the Council. Following the resignation of a councillor a by-election was held for the seat of Franche & Habberley North on Wyre Forest District Council and was elected to the district council where he sits on the Planning Committee and the Overview & Scrutiny Committee.
