The works here are likely to be undertaken in two phases.

Phase 1: Both the carriage way and the wall underpinning it require repair. Due to height of river, no works have, as of yet, been undertaken. When the levels have dropped, our Local Works Team will go in and assess the wall and carriageway with an aim to rebuild the wall using the existing materials. If this is not possible, they will use new materials to the same specification as the existing wall.

Phase 2: Following the repair of the carriageway and wall, and subject to a decision from Cllr Morehead, we will then return to install/repair/refurbish the railings.

These works are being treated as a priority with the intention to have them completed before the tourist season begins.
